Family Means Everything

On a windy autumn morning, I traveled down to North Carolina to document a little fella’s second birthday and special family session. When I arrived and saw the space we had to work in, my brain was in overdrive because it was so beautiful.

Between the old tobacco barns, wispy grass, dogs, an old farmhouse, and the beautiful old trees - I knew it was going to be a special session. Also, Rhett’s mama lets him play during our sessions — does it get any better? Nope. Children are naturally curious and adventurous because their brains are constantly soaking in every ounce of new information. Embrace it.

We spent quite a bit of time near old barns in order to try and block the wind, but this allowed for lots of snuggles and quiet moments captured. This is what it’s all about. Rhett being loved on by his mama and daddy makes for one of my favorite moments we captured.

As we finished up using the old barn, we headed down to another pretty space. I stayed behind them and watched them walk down toward the newer barn and as they walked under the old tree on the property, it looked as though the branches were just framing them perfectly. Almost as though the branches were giving them a hug or watching over them as they walked.

Sometimes it’s ok to let the kids play and let the dogs run around. It makes for the best collection of images.
